Your LearnSci LabSims and Smart Worksheets fully integrate with your virtual learning environment (VLE) / Learning Management System (LMS).
All of the resources are hosted, maintained and updated by Learning Science and are added to your VLE/LMS as LTI links using the learning tools interoperability (LTI) standard in just a few simple steps.
Your VLE/LMS administrator will need to complete the initial integration step before you can start adding any of your Learning Science resources. Depending on how the Learning Science LTI tool has been configured on your VLE/LMS you may need access to your institutional Consumer Key and Shared Secret to add the resources.
To set up your LearnSci LabSims Library or Smart Worksheet Collection, follow the 3 steps below.
Before adding the LTI links for your Learning Science resources in individual courses, Learning Science should be added to your VLE/LMS environment as an LTI Tool Provider (On your VLE/LMS this may be referred to as an External Learning Tool Provider or an App). This is a one-time step and requires administrator access.
Once the tool provider has been set up, course instructors can add LTI links for the Learning Science activities to their courses without needing special admin permissions.

How to configure the Learning Science LTI tool on
Staff can explore all of the LearnSci LabSims and Smart Worksheets on your homepage(s). You will have a separate homepage for each LabSims library you subscribe to and one for your Smart Worksheet Collection. Only Smart Worksheets that you have licenced will be available to use from the Collection. The LTI URL(s) for your homepage(s) will be provided to you when your subscription is activated. If you don’t have access to these please contact support@learnsci.com.

How to add a LearnSci Homepage on
We recommend that you only make the homepage(s) available for staff - this may include academic staff, technical staff, postgraduates and demonstrators. Higher levels of student engagement will be achieved by adding the individual activities to the relevant parts of your courses - see Step 3.
Once you have decided which activities you want to add to your course, you can look up the LTI details for your LabSims by selecting “LTI details for all resources” at the top of your LabSims homepage. For your custom Assessments and Smart Worksheets, use the LTI details provided to you by Learning Science. An LTI “Consumer Key” and LTI “Shared Secret(s)” will be provided if required.

Please note, if you are adding any assessment activities that require the grades to be sent to your VLE/LMS gradebook - these may include your custom Smart Worksheet Pre labs or Post labs, Smart Worksheet Assessments or LabSim Assessments - you should follow the guides below and use the special LTI links provided to you by Learning Science.
